Judgment Put Down Against Butch Johnson In Sexual Harassment

A $94,665 judgment has been put down against former local "Eye In The Sky" traffic reporter Butch Johnson.

The award is in favor of Rebecca Turner, a former reporter for Mr. Johnson. Her on-air name is Rebecca Cruz. She is now a reporter for WDEF-TV.

Attorney Andy Berke said Mr. Johnson "performed lewd acts and used crude language in the office."

He said that when Ms. Turner spurned his advances, he did not give her pay that had been promised and eventually terminated her.

Mr. Johnson was initially represented by an attorney, but he later withdrew.

No one was present for Mr. Johnson when Chancellor Howell Peoples made the award.

Mr. Johnson was formerly associated with Channel 9, but he left town some months ago.

Attorney Berke said he will seek to go after his assets. He said he believes he is now in Birmingham.
